Following are some of the latest Citytrain initiatives: » Upgrading your station » Looking after your security » Better service for people with disability » More after dark stations Upgrading your station Funded by the Queensland Government through TransLink, Brunswick Street Station and Indooroopilly Station is an upgrade project which will transform the station into a more accessible, attractive and safe destination and departure point for QR Citytrain passengers. Several stations throughout the network have recently been upgraded, with more to follow over the coming months. As part of the South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan (SEQIP) upgrades to stations from Salisbury to Kuraby project and Mitchelton to Keperra project have commenced. A Police Liaison Officer is now based at Citytrain central control to respond to calls from help phones located at Stations and provide assistance to Station staff as required. Many stations now have help phones installed in car parks, with more phones due to be installed over coming months. There has also been an increase in the number of Transit Service Officers, Police and private security officers patrolling Citytrain services. Better service for people with disability To cater to the needs of the vision impaired, on-demand consoles have been installed along the North Coast line and selected stations throughout the network. The consoles provide verbal information about the arrival of the next service. More after dark stations A further 11 Citytrain Stations will join the After Dark program in July 2004. This will bring the number of After Dark Stations in the network to 34. After Dark Stations offer additional personal security measures after 7.30pm. A Customer Service Officer is stationed on the platform to assist passengers with information about Citytrain services, offer company to persons travelling alone and escort passengers from the Station to their car.
