With a strong commitment to the safety and security of our customers, QR Citytrain has introduced Core Safety Zones in the majority of stations throughout the Citytrain network. Whilst within the Core Safety Zones, passengers are provided with several key safety features. These include enhanced lighting, an emergency phone, and coverage by surveillance cameras. Stations throughout the QR Citytrain are also equipped with public phones and ticket vending machines.
This is the type of sign on display at entry points to every station with a Core Safety Zone.
Core Safety Zones are situated on both the outbound and inbound platforms of stations along the QR Citytrain network. Core Safety Zones are clearly marked by a blue and white striped line placed behind the yellow safety line. Improved signage All QR Citytrain stations with Core Safety Zones are equipped with informational signage at the station entry points. This signage includes maps detailing the positioning of all safety features present within Core Safety Zones at the station.
Guards are present on all QR Citytrain Services. These guards can be found in the fourth carriage of a 6 carriage train. Passengers within Core Safety Zones can easily seek assistance from Guards when boarding or alighting from QR Citytrain Services. Queensland Police Service Railway Squad To further enhance the safety and security of all passengers, members of the Railway Squad actively patrol the QR Citytrain network both day and night. Which lines have Core Safety Zones? The majority of lines on the QR Network have Core Safety Zones at each station. Stations on the Gold Coast and Doomben line are currently under development.
