Train timetable

Timetables can be picked up from Brisbane City Council customer service centres, QR Citytrain stations, the Visitor Information Centre in the Queen Street Mall and the Queen Street bus station information booth (lower level of the Myer Centre).

One extra NightLink train service operates on three Brisbane lines. NightLink train services will pick up and set down at all stations on the following lines:

Tickets and fares

Normal TransLink fares are charged for travel on NightLink services. This means you could get home for as little as $2.20 (zone 1 full fare single) or $1.10 (zone 1 concession single). All valid TransLink tickets will be accepted; single, daily, off-peak daily, weekly and monthly as will QR Citytrain 3, 6 and 12 month ticket holders.

Please note: Single, daily and off-peak daily tickets are valid up to the last special service scheduled, as per the NightLink timetable, on the day of issue and within the zones printed on the ticket. Passengers who catch a scheduled, next day normal TransLink service will need to purchase another ticket.

For example: If you buy an off-peak daily ticket at 8pm on Friday night, travel to the Valley and then wish to travel home at 7am Saturday morning on a normal scheduled TransLink service, you will need to purchase a new ticket. Whereas if you’d travelled home from the Valley on a NightLink service at 3am Saturday morning, the off-peak daily ticket you’d purchased at 8pm Friday night would still be valid for travel.

Because NightLink tickets are normal TransLink tickets, they can be purchased from the usual TransLink ticket outlets. Tickets can also be purchased from QR Citytrain stations.

Safety

Generally, if a station is attended for the last - first train each day, it will be attended for the NightLink services.

Security staff, some with dogs, are patrolling Citytrain stations. Translink Transit Officers patrol NightLink train services.  The Queensland Police Service Rail Squad are based at Central Station, with roving patrols at Brunswick Street, Roma Street and South Brisbane stations.

You may like to arrange for a taxi, a friend or relative to pick you up at the other end.  Most train stations have public telephones or you can use your mobile phone.  The taxi booking numbers are 131 008 (Black and White) or 131 924 (Yellow).
